Proceeds from the evening will support the development of a new Robotic Surgery Program at BHS.
Robotic Surgery allows doctors to perform many types of
complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control than is
possible with conventional techniques. Robotic surgery is typically utilized
with minimally invasive surgery procedures, but sometimes is used in
traditional open surgical procedures. Using robotic surgery, surgeons can
perform delicate and complex procedures that may have been difficult with other
methods. Often, robotic surgery makes minimally invasive surgery possible and
patients experience fewer complications, less pain and blood loss, a
shorter hospital stay, along with faster recovery. Robotic surgery also
improves our ability to attract new physicians to the area.
